How to Build Your Own Gaming Computer | PART 1

HPGame

Often times, we hear the phrase: “It’s not the computer, it’s the gamer.” This, of course, is true in some cases, but it usually doesn't apply in most scenarios. Why?

Well, in most real-world scenarios, the typical PC gamer is playing his/her favorite games on a computer that is barely meeting the minimum system requirements. And in these cases, the gamer is limited by the computer they play on.

The fact is that most popular PC games nowadays are requiring that the gamer have a fairly good computer in order to play them. And, since technology keeps changing on a yearly—and even monthly—basis, that mid-range computer you bought two years ago is barely able to keep up.

So, most avid PC gamers are either shelling out the money for a new system every few years in order to be able to play at mid-to-high graphics settings—which is almost a must if you’re going to fully enjoy some of the newest PC games—or they are slowly watching their computer become more and more inadequate for the games they want to play.

Neither of these are plausible options...

Fortunately, there’s a third option that is more lucrative, more rewarding, and much more flexible than the two mentioned above. That option is taking it upon yourself to build your own gaming computer.

Now I know what some of you are probably thinking...

  • Computers are complicated

  • You don’t know anything about them

  • They’re way too difficult to build

Yes, computers are complicated, but you probably know more about them than you realize...

...and, they’re actually not that difficult to put together.

It’s true that computer technology is pretty advanced stuff. However, assembling a computer is as easy as plugging the right component into the right slot on the motherboard. And since most motherboard slots and ports are labeled for the corresponding component that fits in them, it’s not too difficult to know what goes where.

So, if I've caught your attention, or you’re at least a little bit interested in building your own gaming computer, continue reading to learn about the advantages and disadvantages—there are a couple—that come with a self-built computer.
