The Bionic Man At Show In London

Bionic Man

A “bionic man” has been put up on show at the Science Museum in London. This bionic man is made up of more than $1 million limbs which are prosthetic.

This bionic man has been named Rex. Amazingly this bionic man shows most sophisticated prosthetic limbs. Also this bionic man has many artificial organs in existence. The artificial organs used in this bionic man are kidney, spleen, pancreas, trachea, and even functioning blood-circulatory system.

In order to show how far the technology of artificial organs and replacement body parts has come a TV documentary was covered by Channel 4 with the name “How to Build a Bionic Man”. Rex was created by a team of roboticists for the channel.

The documentary was presented by Bertolt Meyer, who is social psychologist in the University of Zurich. Actually for creating Rex’s face his face was used as the template.
"One of my personal favorites is the artificial blood that runs through these tubings, because this is made of nanoparticles that are able to bind oxygen and give them off, just like real blood," Meyer said. "What we are close to accomplishing in terms of artificial organs – I find that absolutely mind boggling."

The first bionic man is on show at Science Museum in London, Rex will be the part of this free exhibition “How much of you can be rebuilt?” until the 11th of March.
