Facebook just reached the land mark of 1 billion users a few days ago and the question arose just after the breaking of this news that should all those 1 billion users count as the real users of Facebook?
Let’s see what a research infographic say about facebook's 1 billion users breakdown, which was also posted on MakeUsOf. The research tells that almost 10% accounts out of 1 billion are fake which people, usually teenagers make to fool their parents. Not only teenagers are involved in fake accounts but also 5% are involved in fake accounts to fool their bosses, 5% fake accounts are being used by spouses to fool their spouse and another 5% of accounts are made by smarts who don’t want to disclose their personal information to facebook. That is almost 25% of the total accounts are fake.
Amazing fact is that moms can’t usually remember their passwords and they keep on making new accounts for the same reason when they forget their older passwords, so there are also 2% such accounts involved in 1 billion facebook accounts. Since it is very hard and nearly impossible to delete an existing account therefore the number of re-activated accounts is nearly 7% of 1 billion existing account.
I was really excited to see that only 9% of users are real facebook users and they are really active on facebook, but those who make other accounts for adding only close friends should also be call real facebook users and they are around 10% of the total existing facebook users. There are 167,785,962 accounts which Mark Zuckerberg created using bots, from 4th of feb to yesterday.
Since, there is a tassel between Mark Zuckerberg and Winklevoss brothers on facebook idea. Twin brothers made around 7,620 accounts on facebook to keep themselves on facebook but Zack keeps on blocking them. 7% accounts are for pets, 10% accounts for stalking exes, another 10% of accounts used by business to stalk and troll others.
I don’t know to what extent this research is true, but I can really say one thing for sure every other person is having other 4 fake accounts with him, and he is using them for one of the reasons above.
